My Management MSc – A truly holistic approach, blending academic rigour with real-world relevance.

28/02/2025

Studying at Cranfield School of Management has been a genuinely life-changing experience for me. The approach here is truly holistic, blending academic rigour with real-world relevance. Many of the lecturers are not just academics but active practitioners who run businesses alongside their teaching. This ensures we’re learning from people deeply involved in today’s business landscape, who bring the latest industry insights, innovations, and trends from both the UK and the global market directly into the classroom.

The multicultural environment at Cranfield is extraordinary. As it’s a postgraduate-only university, the students bring years of real-world business experience from diverse industries and countries. This makes group projects so much richer and more dynamic. We’re not just solving real business challenges but also learning to adapt to different work cultures, approaches, and perspectives. It’s an incredible experience of inclusion, collaboration, and even a bit of friendly competition during our simulation exercises.

One of the things I admire most is Cranfield’s unwavering commitment to sustainability. Every subject I studied during my Management and Entrepreneurship MSc integrated the principles of global sustainable development and inclusivity. Whether it was through competitions like the Unilever-led challenge or the Global Hult Prize, the focus on creating solutions for a more sustainable world really stood out. This emphasis gives Cranfield graduates a unique edge, whether launching a business or stepping into a leadership role anywhere in the world.

Cranfield also offers outstanding networking opportunities. Events at the Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship were a highlight for me, where I got to meet alumni like Nick Jenkins, the founder of Moonpig and a former Dragon’s Den judge. Beyond that, we regularly had the chance to pitch our student projects to real venture capitalists, private equity firms, angel investors, and banks – professionals who assess and fund actual business opportunities. These experiences helped me refine my entrepreneurial skills and better understand what it takes to bring ideas to life.

The library at Cranfield is a treasure trove of knowledge, with its extensive market research databases and highly experienced librarians who are always happy to help. On top of that, the careers service is second to none. They provided me with tailored employability training, interview coaching, and lifelong career support, helping me feel fully equipped to step into top roles in the UK or abroad.

On a personal level, Cranfield has been incredibly supportive. I joined the university shortly after a head injury and while dealing with the emotional toll of the war in Ukraine, where many of my friends and family remained. When my health and well-being hit a low point, Cranfield’s staff and systems provided me with the understanding, adjustments, and encouragement I needed to persevere. Their support meant I could not only complete my course but also graduate with awards and a renewed sense of purpose.

Before Cranfield, I had already built a solid career, including roles as COO and Marketing Director, but my time here gave me a fresh perspective. The MSc in Entrepreneurship deepened my understanding of startups and corporate ecosystems, enriched my strategic thinking, and broadened my network. It’s helped me approach challenges in new ways, enhanced my leadership skills, and prepared me for the next stage of my career.

Having studied at top universities in Norway, Belgium, and Ukraine, I can say without hesitation that Cranfield is in a league of its own. The strong ties to industry, the global network of professionals, and the hands-on approach to tackling real-world challenges make it a place that doesn’t just educate – it transforms. I am incredibly proud to be an alumna of Cranfield School of Management.
